The last of the air-cooled turbo Porsche 911-series was designated 993 by Stuttgart. The twin-turbo 993 was also the first turbocharged Porsche to feature all-wheel drive. This Porsche 911 Turbo coupe is one of just 1,201 produced for the U.S. and Canadian Market in 1997 and reflects 17,510 miles on its odometer. The integrated bumpers, low-slung front section, and poly ellipsoid headlights make for a sleek and relatively lightweight package in what purists consider the sweet spot of timeless design and modern engineering. The twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter 6-cylinder engine is rated for 408 horsepower at 5,750 RPM and 398 lb-ft of torque at 4,500 RPM. The engine sends its power to the ground through a 6-speed manual transmission integrated with an all-wheel-drive system. The 1997 Porsche Turbo coupe is capable of a standing start to 60 MPH in 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 180 MPH. The 4-wheel disc brake system features red finish 4-piston calipers with ventilated and cross-drilled rotors. The hollow-spoke aluminum alloy wheels with turbo center caps are exclusive to the all-wheel-drive Turbo coupe. This 993 Turbo coupe wears Pirelli UHP compound tires. The Turbo coupe is finished in deep black paint with a black-and-red leather interior. The rear spoiler not only creates downforce but also draws in cooling outside air over the intercooler for a dense charge delivery to the twin turbochargers. Power windows and adjustable power seats add modern convenience while the sunroof opens the coupe cabin to the day or night sky. The ergonomic cabin favors the driving experience but not at the cost of comfort or entertainment such as air conditioning and a stereo sound system.
